COLONY HOTEL OPTIONS FOR 6 NIGHTS ACCOMMODATIONS

It’s gorgeous, check it out http://www.thecolonyhotel.com/maine/index.html

STUDIO WORKSHOPS

Yoga – Start your day with a sun salutation, invigorating postures and mindful mediation.  Mats provided, all levels welcome!  All 5 yoga sessions count as one workshop.

Encaustic Essentials – Whether you are new to encaustic and need to learn how to apply, heat and fuse, need a refresher or you aspire to teach the medium to others, this workshop will cover the essential information necessary to set up a safe studio and get started.

DIY Power – Learn to make your own encaustic medium, encaustic paints and build your own supports, plus other tips, tricks and money savers.

Transfers & Drawing on Wax – Use your own art or borrowed images to transfer onto wax and discover ways to “draw” onto your encaustic surfaces.

Transparencies, Layers & See Throughs – If you love that see through look, luminosity and luscious layers, this intensive is for you.

Casting & Texture – Learn how to build relief and texture using simple casting techniques and textured relief.  Nothing flat allowed here!

Mold Making – Using simple one and two part mold methods, cast objects into 3 dimensional wax replicas.

Encaustic & Wax Resist - Learn my “trade secrets” of incorporating wax markings, gestural strokes, stamping, folding, batik and resist dyeing to achieve dynamic results that are uniquely your own.

Leaf Stencils & Organic Materials – Nature lover’s, this is for you!  Use fresh leaves to create stencils and embed organic materials, beach combings and found natural matter into your wax.

Wax Pendulum – Don’t let it be said that I don’t share my toys!  Yup, that’s right, you too can swing, push and propel the wax pendulum and create your own spirographic piece.

Instructor’s Choice – I suspect there will be one workshop that fills quickly.  In this case I will repeat the most popular workshop here so I can try to accommodate everyone’s first choice selections.

PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS

Cracking into the Gallery Scene – So you want gallery representation but you don’t know where to begin…  Which gallery?  Where?  How?  What if they say “no”?  This session will offer a methodical game plan and a way to approach a gallerist with dignity.

DETAILS

Getting to and from Kennebunkport:  Boston’s Logon Airport is 1 1/2 hours away and accessible by train.  Let me know if you need a shuttle between the train station and the Colony Hotel.  The Portland Airport is only 1/2 hour away too.

What is there to do in Kennebunkport?  Activities abound in Kennebunkport!  You can fish, take a lobster tour, whale watch or go out on a sailing trip (my hubby Christos will be your captain), shop, gallery hop, drive coastal Route 1, play golf & tennis, have a peek at the Bush compound, go antiquing, visit the Fransiscan Monastary, Blowing Cave or Spouting Rock, kayak, canoe, walk the beach and nature trails, visit a lighthouse and take the trolley.  The Colony Hotel hospitality staff is ready and waiting with even more suggestions.

COST

All inclusive workshop, hotel and meal packages start at $1324-.

A maximum of 20 participants will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Email info@kbernard.com for all inclusive packages prices and a registration form.
